D&D 4.0 Encounters, Web of the Spider Queen, Session 11, No Experience Necessary

Good day gamers,

It's time to start another D&D 4.0 Encounters Campaign Scenario to start up, no experience necessary.

Session 11:  Torture Theater

This one is called 'Web of the Spider Queen" and ties into the end of the last D&D Encounters campaign.

Just so you all know, Wizards of the Coast gives me all of these materials for free, so that we can have a great time as well as learn and promote the Dungeons and Dragons 4.0 system with the hope that you like it so much you will start to design your own scenarios and run them at your place with friends or here at the store.

If you are a new player, we will teach the system, and we will have a pre-generated character for you as well.

If you are an experienced player, you will have a great time playing through the scenario, but the campaign will require you to start at 1st level again, just so you know.

This scenario will last 14 sessions and will be every Wednesday at 8pm and should last until about 10pm.  Be prepared for some sessions to go to 10:30pm.

You do not have to participate in all of the sessions.  You don't even have to be present at the first one.  Come to as many as you please.  The campaign is specifically designed for small encounters that start and end during each session, each week.  If you miss one or more weeks, you just jump into the campaign whenever you attend.  No issues.  Come down and have fun when you can.

"Long past are the days when drow ruled over Shadowdale from the Twisted Tower - or are they?  Beneath the sleepy farming community, an old evil stirs.  The drow and their foul Underdark minions have set eyes on the Dalelands, but to what end is anyone's guess.  Now, it's up to an unlikely band of adventurers to defend Shadowdale from the drow threat and learn what Lolth and her villainous followers are up to.  Success means a respite from danger.  Failure could doom the surface world."

If you are new, you can use one of our pre-generated characters.

If you want to, please come to the session with a pre-made character using materials from Heroes of the Fallen Lands, Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, and Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook.  You can also use rules presented in any Dragon magazine to support your character.

David will also have his Character Creator available for use as well, but printing the character will be $0.10 per black and white copy or $0.25 per color copies.  The character sheets are usually between 4-5 pages long.  You will need to come 30 minutes early in order to make your character.

Race options are:  Dragonborn, Drow, Dwarf, Eladrin, Elf, Goblin, Half-elf, Halfling Half-orc, Human, Kobold, Svirfneblin, and Tiefling.

Class options are:  All class options from the Player's Handbook, Player's Handbook 2, and Player's Handbook 3 as well as Heroes of the Fallen Lands and Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms.

Themes:  Any of the normal ones offered on the Character Creator as well as ones in the Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook like:  Bloodsworn, Deep Delver, Escaped Thrall, Treasure Hunter, Trapsmith, Underdark Envoy, Underdark Outcast.

Backgrounds:  Any of the normal ones offered on the Character Creator or ones offered in the books for this adventure:  Shadowdale, Myth Drannor, and Deep Wastes.

As you progress through sessions, earn Reknown points to collect some available Fortune cards that came with the materials.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you,

David
