I will not be running Pathfinder during our Friday night sessions, and beyond that, I would like to take a break from GMing for a while.  Anyone have a game they want to run for our group?  Maybe invite other people? Or should we let this drop for a while?

As this is a home campaign, it is not open to new players, and this meetup is simply for us to gauge attendance.  Please, if you are not already a player in this campaign, do no sign up.

Great session! Since we had only 3 players, we gave the new rpg Beyond The Wall a try (available through Drive-Thru RPG). What a nice system. Characters are developed as a group using concept charts to randomly generate a PC's early life, including actions that have an effect on the other players. Fortune points allow players to alter dice rolls or cheat death; the players used up a lot of those, lol! My favorite part of the game is the non-Vancian magic system that emulates magic from folklore; simple but elegant in its implementation.

I had a blast! Quick and easy character generation, simple gameplay rules, and interesting story experience - very much like early 1st ed. D&D. I love games that rely more on DM and player imagination vs tomes of rules, complex mechanics, preset effects, etc. Really allows you for a better RP experience. :-)

Cool system we tried out. I'm still trying to figure out how Vern got so comfortable with the new system and the adventure so quickly!

Thanks! I'm always happy when my players have a good time. It helps that the game is based on early D&D which I've played for decades; I just had to grasp the new additions to the rules. The adventure is one I used several times before in D&D and even GURPS, so it was easy to convert to Beyond The Wall.

Andy said he might not go to his school function tomorrow. I'm going to ask him again in the morning and make him commit either way. I'll update the RSVP before noon hopefully.

I finally got ahold of Andy. He has to work overtime and isn't sure when he'll be home. I suspect it won't be till late, so I'm going to stay behind and wait for him to get home. See everyone next week.

Only 3 attending (assuming Wendi isn't coming)? Ring the bell next to the door by the garage when you arrive.

Yeah - I am going to have to bow out tonight. I apologize for the short notice.

Due to circumstances, we will be moving the Friday night games to my home for the time being. Eric, Ross, and Jason, I've sent each of you an email with my address and cell number; contact me or Tyrel if you have any questions.
