DnD Next (v5) Play-Test

We have good interest to run a couple of groups for play-testing the new DnD - DnD "Next", or version 5.

Preference among the current crop of attendees seems to be to run this every other Wednesday.

Please Sign Up at www.DnDNext.com and download the playtest packet.

We'll bring along printouts of pre-generated characters at the party's level, so new folk are able to jump right in.  We're also mixing up the DM from session to session, so we get a mix of both DM-styles and play-experience during the test.

By the way, good thing I wasn't using my older copy of the B2 module. The Ogre had 88 hit points (!) in the August edition of the playtest.

Okay, by my count the XP comes to a total of 790. Given each PC was a level 2 it can be divided equally by 3. Rounding up gives 264 XP per PC.

    Unaccounted treasure was the following:
Each hobgoblin had 8 sp, for a total of 56 sp.
The goblin leader had 2 pp, 4 gp, and a sack containing 75 sp.
There were 4 bodyguards that the PC's killed. Each guard carries 4 ep and 3 sp.
The 3 other goblins had 9 sp and 15 cp total.

Weapons were assorted maces, short swords, short bows and javelins. Armor and shields are too small for anyone except the halfling to use. The ogre had a great club, but little else on him. The hobgoblins had well-maintained ring mail and long swords.

Starting to get the hang of the new rules. Some I like... Some are just OK...But it is still fun.

Excellent session, again! Some good roleplay and interesting interactions between the player characters. I look forward to continuing to game with this group!

Just wanting to confirm that this, going forward, will only be running on bi-weekly Wednesdays. Wording implies it, but if possible I'd like to know so I can attempt to do something about scheduling, if necessary.

Current consensus is to run every other Wednesday. Would love to see some more players.

Good session. Haven't heard the last of the Ogre-murder.
