"Follow My Photo Shoot" - Art in Sanford

This will be a group photo shoot in Downtown Sanford for the St. Johns River Festival of the Arts. I’ll demonstrate how to recognize photo opportunities, photo composition and camera settings. This will be at a level for the beginning photographer, but I will try to provide something of interest to all. Bring your camera and manual for it if you have any specific questions for a camera I'm not familiar with.

We will meet in front of the Sanford Marina at 279 East Seminole Boulevard, Sanford. The cross street is N. Palmetto Ave. The actual address of the art show is 230 E. First St., which is two blocks south. There is a public parking lot across the street from the marina.

It was worth the risk of bad weather. A little water makes for good photos.

It's raining on and off at 8:30 in Orange City north of Sanford. The line of storms may not pass in time. I'm still planning on going for a while if you want to risk it, but we'll probably have to reschedule.

I'll head out for a few. See you there. You never know! Good to shoot in all kinds of weather!

Right now it's cloudy, no rain. There is a chance of storm around 9-10am, then cloudy. I'll still be going, but I don't live that far away. I understand if you live farther and don't want to risk the weather. If you arrive late and we're not at the meeting point, we'll we 2 blocks south, away from the lake in the downtown area. There are some covered sidewalks there also.

If its not raining, I'll be going. A little sprinkle won;t hurt! Pouring rain. No.

The forecast has improved a little. The plan now is that I'm going if there's no rain or lightning, just having dark clouds is still a go. (They do make for good photos) If the turnout is poor or the weather goes horrible we'll reschedule a later date. Check your email or this page before you go to see if I cancel. By 7:30am tomorrow I'll give a final determination.

So far the weather forecast isn't looking good for Saturday. I'll keep you informed if I have to postpone this event to another day. Sunday afternoon is one possibility.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
