This was typical of Jack's presentations, an invitation to all who are willing to make the effort to get on the "bleeding edge" of innovation in the IT world. For me it demonstrated that once again as the demands of the business world change, (in this instance the incredible volume(s) of data), the IT gurus come up with a solution. Jack indicated that RDBMS and noSQL are not necessarily mutually exclusive, (e.g. RDBMS supplies client name and address info and noSQL app supplies all his twitter messages). The inference is that they both can be coded in the same developer app but no example (as I recall) was given.
