For December let's discuss what Incarnation means

Let's discuss what "Incarnation" means.

We've been following the annual holidays and seasonal themes recently. For December then, let's talk about what the idea of "Incarnation" means. In Christianity, this is the idea that God became human in Jesus. In Indian religions and esoteric thought, this usually refers to the soul taking on a body as part of the long karmic process of soul evolution. All of us are "incarnated" beings; we're made of flesh. What does our experience as gay men and lesbians help us to see about being in the flesh?

December is also the celebration of the winter solstice, the return of the light in the great cycle of "eternal return." Incarnation in flesh is the way each of us experiences the eternal return.

We've had a lot of new people join the Internet side of this MeetUp Group. I hope some of the new people will join us for the conversation. These meetings are always interesting and engaging.

Please join us

There is no charge for the Gay Spirit MeetUp Group meetings, though we are asked to spend some money at the coffee bar at Genuine Joe's--so be sure to tell the people serving you coffees, cold drinks, cookies, snacks, etc that you're with the MeetUp. And please plan to arrive five or ten minutes early to get something from the snack bar AND to be on time. We always begin with introductions and if you arrive late we're liable not to get to learn your name and who you are.
