Gay Tantra: God Is Gay (and more)

We're a reading group of guys interested in Eastern traditions. Starting with the book "Gay Tantra" we explore positive spiritual writings of particular interest.

"Gay Tantra" by openly gay psychotherapist, former monk and Sanskrit scholar William Schindler (Brother William) introduces us to the teachings of tantra and to the gay Hindu prophet Ramakrishna. Brother William is adept at translating tantra's principles for modern gay men.

"God is the ultimate insider. There is no aspect of existence foreign to God. No secret fantasy, experience (or) enjoyment. One's concept of God must come to include the conviction that God is gay. For a gay tantric to identify fully with his chosen deity as a step toward full self-realization, he must regard the deity as the source of his being, and this has to include his gay being. The concept of deity must be no less than what we ourselves are....If any human being can be gay and possess the unique understanding that a gay identity confers, the insider's view, then God, too, must minimally be capable of sharing that viewpoint; God, too, must be gay at the very least."
