Let's Meet and Greet in August! We can discuss our favorite genres/pick a book!

Have a suggestion for a book? At the meet and greet we can identify a common thread and pick a book for everyone to read before the next meetup.
We'll pick a location soon with input from new members. See you there!

So sorry, we are in the midst of a renovation and getting there by 7 seems problematic. We definitely want to be included. Our book interests run from fiction, mysteries, to biographies. Basically up for anything other then the Danielle Steel, type read.

    Thanks.

Very excited to see everyone tomorrow at 7! When I called to confirm the reservation they told me the server(s) can give each of us a separate bill. See everyone tomorrow!!

Should we have a quick confirmation on how we will handle the dinner bill? Will we split it evenly between total number of guests or each contribute their own share plus calculated tip? Good to know before we go.

Hey Jeff - good point. I think cash is good. I can pay with a card so it's easy for the server, and I'll pick up some money at the bank for change for folks.

May I suggest "The Devil in the White City" by Erik Larson?
It is a historical recount that reads like a novel. Very engaging!

Hey Charles - if we end up at The Terrace Room, use the 19th Street Oakland Bart Station - .4 miles from the restaurant.

August 8th works for me. I just started a new book last night and so far it's pretty amazing so I thought to share, The Opposite of Loneliness: Essays and Stories.

Rob, I just read (apparently I was the only one on the planet who hadn't yet) the first essay online. Thanks for the tip, it's completely wonderful - I plan on buying the book today. Thanks again!

Are there any good bars/restaurants with patio seating and heat lamps? We could meet and be able to hear each other and the heat lamps would keep the evening chill from being an irritant.

Conversation-centric eateries and bars are hard to find for a group of 8-12. What of two discussions?
