Cakebread Cellars is located near Napa in the city of Rutherford and it was started by photographer Jack Cakebread. Over 39 years ago, Jack Cakebread came to photograph the Napa Valley for a book and while here, he casually mentioned his interest in one day owning a vineyard to some family friends who had a ranch in Rutherford. When he returned home that afternoon, the phone rang and it was the family friends offering to sell their property. He headed back up to the valley that same afternoon to make his best offer, and Cakebread Cellars was born.

Wish I could be there. Reminds me of the old story about a customer at the storied Ernie's resto in SF years ago, asking the waiter if they had Cakebread. The waiter thought a minute and then said that he wasn't sure, but knew they had some brioche.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
