HERB WELCOME BACK Korean-Chinese DINNER at the House of Joy

Oh joy! Our longtime member Herb M. just returned from his semi-annual trip to Paris, France where he lives half of the year with his longtime companion named Koa. In celebration of Herb's return to L.A. (downtown Glendale actually), we will visit the HOUSE OF JOY neighborhood-type Korean-Chinese fusion "hole in the wall" restaurant in Glendale--but that has loyal followers for its generous servings and unique take on Chinese food--especially its acclaimed Peking Chicken.

We will each order appetizers and entrees to share family style hopefully including the restaurant's signature dish--Peking Chicken which some customers have loosely describe as being like fried chicken drumstick wings in a delicious, slightly spicy and sticky sweet sauce. The restaurant is known for its huge, inexpensive entrees that are served in an 80's décor dining room along with the obligatory Korean staple food item kimchee.  Basic beer and wine offerings are available.

It was very nice except we missed both Lee & Mark. The restaurant had reserved a private dining room for us that normally has a dinner tab minimum that we were initially able to book with 7 RSVPs, so please be considerate guys and update the calendar rather than just be a NO SHOW. Thank you! The food was good, service was very good--contrary to Yelp--services were huge and prices were reasonable. The Peking Chicken wings were worth all the hype.
