Critical Mass Bike Ride the Streets at Night-no stops at signals w/police escort

Critical Mass Bicycle Ride

This is a fun bicycle ride giving you the freedom to ride the streets of Los Angeles with thoursands of cyclists without having to stop for signals. The police block off the intersections, and we ride the streets with police escorts.

Each month the ride takes a different route which is part of the fun. LA Critical Mass rides are on the last Friday of each month. Previous rides have covered Downtown, WeHo's Santa Monica Bl., Hollywood Blvd. between Highland and Western Ave,  Thaitown, Little Armenia, Mid-Wilshire, Koreatown, East Los Angeles and many other neighborhoods.

LA Critical Mass monthly rides are approximately 30 miles with a speed around 10 miles per hour. There are always at least two brief stops. For more info visit their website and Facebook page Los Angeles Critical Mass.

The Critical Mass bike ride is an amazing experience - riding throgh the streets of L.A. from East to West not having to stop at any signals - and enjoying Los Angeles at night. You see L.A. in a completely different way. I love it and have gone 3 times now. We had dinner outside in the restaurant's outdoor patio and had a wonderful celebration meal. Great company and people too. .............................................................. If you missed it this time, don't miss the next one in July 2013 "Critical Mass Bike Ride the Streets at Night-no stops at signals w/police escort"-- already posted in this group for Friday, July 26, 2013. It will be a really fun weekend starting out with this bike ride on Friday and ending with our visit to "PAGEANT OF THE MASTERS (tickets from $20 and up) and spend a day in LAGUNA BEACH" on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

This was a great event! The ride was slow enough everyone kept up, mostly smooth pavement throughout. Great Thai food after, met a few new peeps.

We have at least 45 people RSVP'd from several Meetup groups including Adventure Us, Downtown Los Angeles and Los Angeles Metro, Exploring LA, Foodie Connection, LA Foodies, and more so please try to arrive at 7:00PM and meet in front of the CLEANERS next to the stairs (it's easy to find) so we have time to introduce ourselves and meet each other. Bring a friend to join in the fun. You'll meet lots of people. Once the ride starts there are only 2 stops to regroup plus our fabulous meal at the end of the ride if you're up for it! And don't forget your Bicycle Helmet for your own safety.
