JULY 4th bike ride meets at 9:30 AM with ride out at 10:00 AM!
NEW MEMBERS, BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATES, ADVANCED, ALL ARE WELCOME TO CYCLING!
We welcome all level riders to come out and ride with us so we may inspire and coach you. If you are just getting back out there, need some help figuring out how to use your gears, and/or you just want to start a healthy new hobby and make new friends or even if you are an advanced rider and want coach someone else who could use your inspiration, then this is the club for you! YOU CAN RIDE ANY KIND OF BIKE including; road or racing, hybrid, cross trainer, or even mountain bikes are fine though probably NOT a beach cruiser as we go a little further than this type of bike is built for.
RIDE MEETING LOCATION and TIME:
WE WILL MEET AT DOCK 52 (ON FIJI WAY) IN MARINA DEL REY at 9:30 A.M. with a ride out at 10:00 A.M. sharp.
PARKING FREE at DOCK 52 and you can stay all day. Look for us in the first row of parking-- though you can park anywhere in the lot.
Generally the ride is fine for those of you just getting back out there-or even a seasoned cyclists. You can do as much or as little as you want. The ride is pretty much flat and very scenic. The ride will vary depending on the level of riders who show up. We will ride to Redondo Beach, which is about 25 miles round trip and mostly flat. We will turn around at the end of the bike path in Redondo Beach We will have lunch during the ride and return back to Marina del Rey about 2:00 p.m. No one is left behind, and we LOVE BEGINNERS!! Our friendly members will inspire and coach you!
INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED RIDERS, PLEASE COME DOWN AND HELP A BEGINNER!
If you are an intermediate or advanced cyclist we urge you to come out and share your experiences, help a beginner to learn the ropes. Additionally, we will have lunch at some point during or after the ride, so you may want to bring your lock)!
Bring flat kit (2 tubes) and energy bars and CASH for lunch so paying your own tab is easier for everyone if you have small bills. Thanks in advance!
If you don't have a bicycle or a helmet you can rent one at Daniel's Bicycle Rentals which is just a short walk from the DOCK 52 parking lot in Fisherman's Village.

Daniel's Bicycle Rentals opens at 9:00AM so please arrive at Dock 52 early to park and walk over to Fisherman's Village so you can be at Daniel's Bicycle Rentals at 9:00 AM when the shop opens because they get very busy. Tell him Louis sent you and ask for the bicycle club rate.
Please ensure that you are in good health before participating and understand that there is risk involved in biking on road or on bike path and group rides. You can get hurt. As an event organizers we assume absolutely no responsibility for you. We are simply "ride buddies", nothing more. If you choose to participate, you assume all responsibility for yourself and your equipment and agree not to hold me or our Meetup group liable in any way. Also, please adhere to the following:
- Always wear a helmet when biking. This is mandatory, no exceptions.
- Make sure your bike is in good working condition, with the tires properly inflated [masked] psi for road bikes or 60-80 psi for hybrids) and the chain lubricated prior to the ride.
- Bring at least one spare tube, energy bars/food and enough water.
- If you have toolkit, pump/co2, or first aid kit, bring them.
- Learn and use standard hand signals for group rides.

From the 10 Freeway:
Take the Lincoln Blvd. off ramp south to Fiji Way.
Turn right on Fiji Way and look for the Dock 52 sign on the right.
Turn right into the parking lot.
From the 405 Freeway:
Take the 90 Freeway (the Marina Fwy) West until it ends.
Continue straight to Mindanao Way and go left to Lincoln
Turn Left on Lincoln to Fiji Way.
Turn Right on Fiji Way and look for the Dock 52 sign on the right.
Turn right into the parking lot.
