For the eighth year in a row, local fans of television and film writer/director Joss Whedon are gathering to raise money for Equality Now, a charity dedicated to promoting the human rights of women and girls worldwide.
Proceeds from our event support the following charities:
· Equality Now (http://www.equalitynow.org/)
· Kids Need to Read (http://www.kidsneedtoread.org/)
· Tahirih Justice Center (http://www.tahirih.org/)
Each event features a screening of Whedon’s cinematic release “Serenity” (based on cult television show “Firefly”). This year’s event will include raffles, a Whedonverse Costume Contest, auctions and prize giveaways, and showings of internet sensation, “Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog.” Saturday's event will include live entertainment with Mikey Mason including his well-known music video “She Don't Like Firefly.”
Friday, July 19 at 10PM (doors at 9:30PM) and
Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 12N (doors at 11AM)
Tickets will be $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday, and will be on sale online at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse.
