Some attendees are getting to the theater early to try and reserve good seats. Otherwise, please meet the group in the lobby, behind the ticket machines at 7:15 PM.

So what time do we want to re-try the movie? Does 6:30 work for everyone?

It looks like I'll be there around 7 if all works out and tickets aren't sold out by that point. *fingers crossed* I'll be bringing a friend with me!

I called the theater and got the same response Ann did. I was already out by that point so my friend and I ended up going to see another movie.

So which ticket should i get?

    December 4, 2013

  • Ann

I just spoke to someone at the theater, who said "they don't anticipate being able to show the 7:30 movies." I bought my tickets online, and she said I'd have to go there tonight to get a cash refund. But she said that if I go in the next few days, they would give me movie passes that are good for any day.

Some attendees are making plans to meet at potbellys beforehand and others are planning to get there early to get good seats. I plan to get there early to try and reserve a few good seats As a default, if people would like to meet in a central location, I would recommend the center of the lobby, right behind the ticket machines, at 7:15. I may or may not be there depending on how early I get there to reserve seats.

Hey guys, does anybody want to grab a bite to eat nearby before the movie?

    December 4, 2013

Are we just meeting in the theater? Joran and I are going to try to get there early to get good seats.

    December 3, 2013

    • Jerri L.

I'd rather meet inside the theater to increase the odds of getting better seats. It might be unrealistic to get 17 seats together, however.

Hopefully not too last minute but I'll have to take my car in after work. Sucks since I've been wanting to see this for awhile :(

I highly recommend buying tickets in advance for the 7:30 screening. This is going to be a very popular movie for $5 Wednesday. http://www.cinemark.com/mobileticketselector.aspx?theatre_id=1111&showtime_id=6087&movie_id=47965&print_type=Digital Cinema&seating_id=-1&showtime=[masked]T19:30:00

Hi~ what is best way to purchase movie ticket: online or at theater?

    December 3, 2013

    • Simon I.

I buy tickets online. A lot of theaters have loyalty/membership programs which cost some money but typically waive the service charges. For instance, AMC theaters have a membership program called "AMC Stubs". It costs ~ $12/yr, waives service charges, gives you free upgrades at concessions, and gives you $10 in rewards money for every $100 spent. Fandango honors the stubs membership as well.

    • Simon I.

Also FYI, for Rave theaters you need to purchase tickets through movietickets.com.

Great movie deal; looking forward to Wed. Has anyone seen Ender's Game or know where there's another IMAX besides at Hazy?

    December 3, 2013

    • Jerri L.

The only other "real" IMAX in the area is at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. Any other theater advertising they have IMAX mean the projector, not the screen that creates an immersive experience.

I watched Ender's Game and really enjoyed it. I haven't read the books. Ditto what Glenn said, it is definitely worth watching on the big screen. I watched in 3D and I felt it added to some of the battle sequences.

How can a brand new movie only cost $5?

    November 20, 2013

    • Jerri L.

Rave cinemas has been having $5 Wednesdays for a while. They make all of their money off of concessions anyway.

      1 · November 20, 2013

    • Stacy

Just to expand on what Jeri Lyn said ... Wednesday is always "$5 Wednesday" at the Rave theater. Every movie is $5 all day long. The only exception is that it can't be the first week of the movie release, and 3D movies are an extra $1-2 making them $6-$7. Since Hunger games Catching fire just premiered a couple of days ago, this Wednesday isn't eligible for the discount, but the following Wednesday, December 4th, is eligible. Its a great deal, especially since its one of those shiny new theaters with the more comfy seating. Leah, you should come join us :)

YES! I forgot about $5 Wednesdays! I was wondering how I was going to be able to see this in a theater since I didn't think I would find screening passes.

I'll be emptying out my piggy bank!
