Board Games Night (second location)

I want to start trying something new this Friday.

Because these events are in such high demand, and a lot of our regulars are going on the waitlist, I'd like to start having a second location for our Friday game nights.

I think we have so many regular members on the waitlists now that people who have been in Geek Club for awhile and want to see their friends each Friday would get a chance to see many of them at either event; also, you don't have to come to one location or the other each and every week, you can sign up for whichever one you'd like to try and get into.

Rob has generously volunteered to host, see his comments below for instructions on parking, etc.  Please bring additional games to round out our options!

I can supply some games. You can see my collection at boardgamegeek.com (search for user PseudoPserious); ask and I'll bring it.

Hey all, work has been running really late the this week and I may be late to play... is that going to be ok? I can bring Fluxx and Monty Python Fluxx if anyone is interested.

      Thanks! Can't wait!!

I'm Charity's +1. Is late OK? More importantly ~ I don't know most of these games. I'm more like Rummikub, Scrabble, Boggle, Bananagram, Yahtzee, Backgammon.... Does anyone mind newbies? I'd be learning and I don't want to slow the games down!

Also, I think I can open the house up to a few more for those 'waiting'

Be advised, the map link above shows my place in a slightly different location than reality. My place is in the south west corner of the 'triangle' that is Gretna Green Ct.

Looks like I double booked. A friend of mine is moving away and giving him a going away party. You all have fun and if we do the second location next week I will be there!

I can host at least 20 right now (over 30 once my basement is finished in a few weeks). I have ample parking nearby at the Alexandria Home Depot and I am about a 15 minute walk from the Van Dorn Metro. What I don't have is a lot of games to choose from.

Address is 264 Gretna Green Ct, ALexandria VA 22304. Best parking is on the east end of the Home Depot parking lot (near the Goodyear Service Center) on Picket street. My place is across the street, just walk up a hill between the last townhouse and along the fence line.

I can bring Catan + Cities and Knights if desired along with my personal favorite Betrayal at House on the Hill (which plays up to 6) :)

This is such a great idea; thanks for making it happen, Andrew, and thanks for hosting, Rob!

I could host. My main table fits 8 or so (and two simultaneous games are possible), plus my living room coffee table works for those kind of games (party vs euro).

I should add that I would like for this second event to be able to accomodate at least 10 people, more if at all possible. I don't want this to be a "spillover" event so much as it should be a sizeable event with enough "familiar faces" that people will be happy to sign up for these.

There's a possibility that I may be able to host here in there in the future, but will need to ask my roommates. I can provide a table, chairs, and a couple of couches, and some snacks, but people would need to bring the games they want to play.

Let me check with my roommate and see if he is cool with it. I have an apartment but it should be good for a couple of boardgames. Since this would be the spill over place I think that should be enough.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
