RSVP limits on an event are typically put in place for reasons of capacity or planning.
It is important to the hosts of events that they be able to anticipate the number of people that will be attending.
It is also important to our group as a whole that each space at one of these events be available to someone who is able and willing to attend.
In order to give priority to our members who make the appropriate effort to be responsible and communicative about their plans to attend events, we have instituted a policy around "no-shows".
If you are RSVP'd "Yes" to an event 24 hours before it starts and then do not attend the event, and do not communicate with the event host or one of our other organizers to explain the (legitimate and reasonable) reason why you are changing your plans with such late notice, you will be marked as a "no-show".
After 2 "no-shows" in a 3 month period you will be contacted via Meetup email by one of our organizers to discuss the issue.
After 3 "no-shows" in a 3 month period, we will ask you to no longer RSVP for limited-attendance events for a probationary period of 3 months.
During a 3 month probationary period, you may contact an organizer and you will manually be placed on the "Wait List" for the event. If there is room for you at the event, you will be placed into the "Yes" RSVPs and receive a notification through Meetup email that you may attend.
It is important that as a member of our group you read, understand, and agree to this policy.
