The first mile or so has a steady incline, then the rest is mostly downhill. It alternates between full sun and shady pine trees, and it will take little over an hour.

You have four parking fee options:
1) Pay $5 at the parking station (exact change).
2) If your car is registered in Boulder County, it is free to park.
3) Buy a pass for $25. It will be good until Dec 31st. I'll be posting more open space hikes this spring, so you'd get good use out of it. If you choose this option, you would need buy it ahead of time, as they are not open on the weekend. You can purchase it by mail or stop in during the week.
4) We can carpool from the Superior Target. I can fit one comfortably in the front, 2 more somewhat comfortably in the back seat, and even 2 more if we all want to be really uncomfortable. :) Let me know, though. :)
