It was amazing! I had a great time, met a lot of inspiring and interesting people, and learned quite a bit in sessions. I took off one star for two reasons..
    1. Though registration was listed from 8-9, when I arrived at 8:15 it still felt like they weren't ready.
    2. The schedule has 'Free Headshots' listed at least 3 times on the sheet. I never found them. I was looking forward to it, because I really need a new photo for my online profiles, and can't afford to pay for a whole session. There was a photo booth, but that is pretty different. Please be careful with advertising in the future. You never know what is going to be a big deal to someone.
But as I said- the conversations and workshops and presentations were well worth the conference fee, and I'd go again in a heartbeat!!

No apologies necessary!! Had I asked, I would have found the answer. :) I also intended my feedback as constructive and positive, (and didn't realize it would be on the main page!) so I hope it didn't come across too negative. The event is great, and I'm so glad I went!

Great event Leslie. Geek girls impressed me with how much value was offered. The content was great. I actually would offer that I felt like I missed a lot of it because there was so much going on. I took stupid looking photos but thats my fault for not getting up with enough time for some morning haircare. I hope this keeps going on and growing. I would love to see more people there- men and women- as the classes were beneficial to all. My sister loved it- I think Geek girls conference was a highlight of her trip out to Cali. Much Love Sister in pink.

Fantastic event, huge thanks to everyone who helped organize. This was my first year and I'm so incredibly glad I went. Is it too early to sign up for next year's event? ;)

Just one question: Where do we find the headshots that were taken on Saturday?

Enjoyed networking at the conference. Wish there was more of me to go around in order to attend more sessions! The Python programming was great to attend. When will the pictures be uploaded from this years conference?

Can I just say? My excitement is growing by the second for this event. I'm keeping room open for growth and learning. Maybe I'll build something next week after all this learning. :)

I have an 11 & 12-year-old son. Are they welcome to come?

    1 · June 16, 2014

    • Leslie F.

Absolutely! There is a Student rate on registration. There are many workshops they can take and if they are into coding well then they will have an awesome time!

Great workshops. :) Thank you to the organizers who put this together. Unfortunate timing for myself as this conflicts with a family wedding on the East Coast, but I hope everyone has a great time and look forward to meeting you all at some other event!

Hi Bevver. The tech con is an opportunity for you to attend workshops, meet Exhibitors, and network with other Geek Girls. You are encouraged to bring whatever electronic device you want. The workshops are very hands-on, so feel free to bring your devices!
