7:15 pm - "Confidence Crash Course for Geeks" by  Patrycja Slawuta joining us via Google Hangout from NYC! And we'll be having hands-on workshop.

*INFO ABOUT PITCHING TIME: Do you have an idea for a start-up, would like to share an idea you are excited about, or need helping solving a problem with your project? “Pitching Time” is the moment when you can do that! Just send us ([masked]) one slide presentation about it. We will send you some useful tips how to prepare for a pitch and we will give one minute to present it during pitching time.  You can also just present your idea even if you didn't send it to us beforehand.

A native of Poland, Patrycja Slawuta is currently an entrepreneur, teacher, and executive coach, based out of Manhattan.

Patrycja’s research focuses on (ir)rationality, moral emotions and the dynamics of human interactions. She has published her findings in scientific journals as well as presented on various international conferences.
Patrycja’s passion is applying scientific knowledge to the entrepreneurial world. She has co-founded an online Latin America-based company that helps empower and educate women around the issues of shame, guilt and self-esteem.
Patrycja also collaborates with a number of tech start-ups to merge science, art and technology in order to foster personal growth and transformation. She specializes in re-framing fear and limiting beliefs by turning them into powerful confidence and self-worth.

While her business pants are on, she writes frankenstein code that continues to surprise her as it lurches to life. She graduated from college as a 3D artist, and is still unclear how exactly she got from there to here, but it seems to be working out swimmingly.

When the business pants come off, she’s generally found in front of some video game system, though the occasional fishing trip makes her happy.

Geek Girls Carrots is a community for women interested in tech and startups. We bring together female developers, programmers, admins, analysts, application architects, graphic designers, IT managers, social media specialists, system architects, women with ideas for start-ups, computer science students, and anyone starting their adventure with technology.

Our group is designed for women with passion, and hunger for knowledge. If this describes you, join us Wednesday, July 2nd at DevLocal to learn, share, teach and meet new people!

See you there!

Here are the main resource links from last night's speakers:
If you enjoyed last nights "Confidence Crash Course" by Patrycja then check out her workshop! You'll get a deeper dive into techniques and tools to face your inner critique and boost that confidence!
Game Maker Studio mentioned in the "Games & Podcast" talk by Amanda End. If you want to get started on creating games and have no background in coding this is a great place to start!
This is an awesome startup by Colin Megill. It's all about polling! Well, actually it's a great way to get feedback from a large group of people in real time. And it may replace town halls one day. Colin has only been coding for two years and he's already got a startup. Want to learn how to get your startup started from Colin? You can connect with him on LinkedIn.
