Geek Girls Storm GameKastle: Tabletop RPG Workshop

Interested in tabletop roleplaying? Want to hang out with other gals interested in RPGs and gaming in general? Join our Tabletop RPG Workshop, which will run every other Sunday morning before Pathfinder Campaign whenever possible.

PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to be in any of our RPG campaigns to attend the workshops, but you do need to give table space to RSVP'd players for the campaign session when it begins (usually 1-5pm).

We are officially scheduling this from 10am-12pm to give us room for a lunch break. However, people who bring lunch may choose to eat there and save us a table through 1pm. That's up to you. :)

Here are the activities you may expect on our Tabletop RPG Workshop mornings, depending on time and desire:

- Board games to get us in the gaming mood

- Help building a tabletop RPG character

- Discussion of tabletop RPG rules & roleplay etiquette

- Pre-made mini-quests/encounters for existing characters

- Trying out indie/non-mainstream tabletop RPGs

We are currently playing Pathfinder and Firefly RPG as our long-term campaigns, so "Tabletop RPG" will usually mean one of those two, but you may find fans of other games (D&D 4e, Shadowrun, Vampire, etc.) at our table as well. We will definitely rotate other games in as time slots open up.

I'm running late myself so feel free to grab us a couple tables put together like last time... I wanted to stop for food so I don't have to leave (and lose our spot) :)

Hey gals! I wanted to let those of you coming to the tabletop workshop that there is still one more opening left for the pathfinder campaign following this event. It will be a temporary spot, as we have another campaign regular absent just for this session. So June or Gennifer, you may want to get that campaign spot! And we can use the workshop time to help you finish a character sheet if needed.

This workshop session will likely focus again on character making. I'll help people with Firefly RPG who want to join Firefly, and we can all help those new to Pathfinder make a level 1 character. I'll have the Inner Sea books available if you want to choose a home country or deity for an existing character. You may also want to make an alternate Pathfinder character for a one-shot (if we have time for one. I'm thinking not, but then you'll have it for next time.)

Another thing I am thinking of bringing in is a short worksheet for campaign characters to note personality traits, likes/dislikes and motivations, basically in a format that I can access easily and put away in my "stuff about the PCs and how I'm going to screw with... I mean, challenge them" folder. :)

Will this event be useful for complete novices to tabletop RPG? I love the idea of being part of a campaign but I am intimidated at being the only virgin.

You won't be the only new in this meetup group. There are plenty newbies to tabletop actually. :) and I am willing to help and take time to explain things!
