I'm bummed about this low interest. I'm working on Friday night or I would go.

I wrote that description on the GK calendar. :) I exchanged several emails with the owner about Free-For-All Friday beforehand, and arranged for the regular calendar date (every 2nd Friday of the month) to be scheduled. What people don't always realize is that you can't get on the calendar unless you make your event open to the public. I thought long and hard of a Geek Girls event I could actually get on the GK calendar before doing this.

Thus I've been feeling put into a pinch that there will be minimal Geek Girls representation at this Friday's event. It is my own fault though! I ran with the idea without being sure I'd get any backup on it, because I liked the idea of us doing a public event that encourages more women to play at GK. But for whatever reason it's been a really, really tough sell. Besides this group, I've asked my other social circles and have gotten very little interest, even after stating that male guests and non-GGSV members are also welcome.

Without a doubt, I would tell GameKastle of course if I were canceling. I'm prepared to see the first Free-For-All Friday through, but the low interest overall means I'll probably tell GK to cancel the rest of the series. I don't want to put more effort into an event series I have to beg people to come to. :) The only reason I'm not 100% on canceling the series is because I don't know how many attendees the GK calendar announcement will bring us.

Anyhow, I have board games to bring and planned to bring 'em this Friday. I don't have any hardcore eurogames though, and GK seems to attract some pretty hardcore strategy gamers, so anything in that vein you could provide would be ideal.

Hi Sally- just keep in mind if you change it, it looks like you're on GK's Calendar already- and it's kind of described like we'll bring board games for others to join too.

I'm perfectly cool bringing board games, just make sure if you switch to magic you let GK know to drop the event off the calendar :) don't want to get them frustrated when they're so great about space!

And I added my RSVP. If you'd like I can also post a list of "potential games" I can bring into the comments to see if can stir some excitement!

I am leaning toward canceling Free-For-All Friday due to the stunning lack of interest, It could be that the time slot is just plain bad! But I am also suspecting that the reason for lack of interest in Free-For-All Friday is because it's too open ended. People want to know exactly what they are going to be doing so they know it's worth their time.

I am also wondering whether anyone would be interested in the same timeslot this coming Friday, 6:30 - 9:30 approx) to enter Friday Night Magic at GameKastle with me. That was what I was going to do anyway if I was the only one who showed up, so I figured I'd ask! :)
