Re: [Geek-Girls-Silicon-Valley] Firefly RPG

I'd love to host a recurring poker night, and am trying to figure out a good night.  Any thought on combining activities?  We meet at my place and half of us play poker the half do Firefly?  It might encourage those of us (like myself) who know nothing about RPGs outside of pc gaming, to observe and create characters on the sidelines without blocking your play, and give entertainment for late comers?

Just a thought - I'd be happy to host next thursday as a prototype, though I can't start before 7 due to my bike commute and work schedule.  I live near Fair Oaks and Evelyn.

Thursdays aren't the issue for me, unfortunately sleep deprivation due to some issues that came up here at home is for me this week. I love the time slot though and don't foresee problems in the future.

I'm currently sitting at GameKastle waiting for Channel Fireball to open. I'm going to head over there around 6pm. If I don't get an "I'm coming!" response from at least 3 of the folks who RSVP'd for Firefly RPG, I'll have to cancel this session. :( Aw!

I just want to avoid getting stuck in perpetual character generation, since Firefly RPG has such... unique rules, that people tend to need me there to ask questions. It'd be 100% best if everyone involved can finish a character at the same time. And then we can start the adventure at the same time.

That said, I get that weekdays are kinda tricky, especially for something as involved as an RPG. Is Thursday night just not working for people? Possibly we can do a once a month Saturday or something so we have a longer session, but it happens less often. I should be able to fit something like that into the schedule.

If we do that I could use the other (ish) Thursday evenings for something else tabletop gaming-ish. We can still use Channel Fireball, they are real nice about that. But we can use the venue to do some quick RPGs instead, mebbe even some miniatures, etc.

BUT if I'm just jumping the gun and Thursdays will work better in the future, I'll keep on keepin' on with the schedule as is. :)
