Just my luck I'm having the exact same problem tonight. not expecting my hubby till late and we have one car. D'oh!

next Monday is actually the next date we show up at Illusive. I'm not sure yet whether I'm gonna keep doing those, or try a different scheduling. for now, it stays as is!

I haven't been able to make it to any magic meet ups because my husband has been working late. He's switching jobs, so I should be able to start showing up. I'm hoping I'll be able to make it to draft at Game Kastle tonight. Maybe I'll see you there?

I am in sore need of Magic players. Have not been able to play Magic since I got laid off and I'm seriously in withdrawal. :)

As far as I understand, the main blockers to people playing Magic are:
- Don't know how to play
- Worried about the cost

I love to teach Magic, and I own plenty of cards! I have several pre-built decks if you don't want to learn to build decks (which I can also teach.)

I also allow old cards/decks. We are playing casual, not tourney. So you could dust off your old collection and play with us, if you have one.

Also, we could play draft. There are a couple draft types I like.
1. Booster draft: Buy 3 booster packs (should be around $13). Each person opens their first pack, picks a card and passes it to the left. This goes on until the cards run out. Then everyone opens their second pack, picks a card and passes to the right. Once those cards are depleted, everyone opens their final pack, picks a card and passes to the right. At the end everyone should have 45 cards. Then you build a 40 card deck (around a 3rd of which should be lands--your resource pool, basically, which game stores usually provide plenty of copies of.)
2. Cube draft: We have a pool of cards to draw from. Everyone has to build their deck from the same pool. The pool size depends on how many players there are. This type of draft doesn't require any purchase (I have plenty of cards to use for a cube).

I have been hosting Magic every other Monday at Illusive. Would love to see more people come by! Or if a different day would work better... I can try to make that happen. Let me know!
