Sci-fi and fantasy books and films, manga, anime, folklore and fairytales, and an assortment of stuff that I guess falls under the 'Science' heading.
So many favorites, so little time! Here's what springs to mind: Ursula K. LeGuin, Patricia McKillip, Agatha Christie, LoTR, HP, Hunger Games, Miyazaki films, Labyrinth, Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Blackadder, Star Trek TNG & DS9, 7 Seeds, Skip-Beat!, Eyeshield 21, and so forth.
No question, it's Xena: Warrior Princess.
Anywhere with enough room for whatever the group wants to do. Coffee shops and bars seem like the best options.
The first movie that I remember seeing as a child was 'The Last Unicorn' and it remains one of my favorites. My family lost the VHS copy and, years later, a great friend bought me the DVD for my birthday because I was still talking about my love for the movie on a regular basis (and perhaps singing the opening theme upon occasion...).
Despite leading a decidedly nerdy life, I find that the opportunities to go 'full-geek' with female friends are few and far between. I hope to change that soon!
