No (Low) Host Workshop Day!

  • Jan 25, 2014 · 10:00 AM
  • Casa de la Maison House (April's House)

Hi Gang!

I have a sizable shop in my backyard, and while I will be dominating trivia in Austin, my partner Jonathan will be keeping the home fires burning. He runs the Scholars of Alcala (, and is hosting a shop day.

If you have any wood, metal, or leather projects (or some limited sewing projects; I'll set up the dining table as a cut table if I have requests but you have to bring your own sewing machine), you are welcome to come out.

It's open-ended (10a-dusk) and open-house. I don't think Jon is planning on teaching anything, but you are welcome to join in on the fun. BTW, Jonathan is very persuadable about teaching if there's a thing you want to learn. It's a great way to get him to open up and talk for once. So, feel free to stop by for a couple of hours and turn that pen, sew up your hems, or do some leatherworking!

Bring snacks, to share or for yourself. Please park on the street, though if you have heavy things to bring in, you can pull into the driveway. And please don't spill anything on my couch.

This is co-ed, so if you have a gent in your life who needs to use a saw, feel free to bring him! Please leave the younger folks at home, as should be obvious, there are lots of dangerous fun toys to cut small fingers.
