What are your geeky obsessions?

Fantasy in most shapes and sizes. A recent delight is the TV adaptation of Game of Thrones, whose most recent book I am currently devouring (though of late it's become a bit dense to swallow). Other long-term favorites include Law & Order: SVU (not sure if that counts), Breaking Bad, X-Files, Doctor Who (though I'm not caught up), Torchwood, Supernatural (though it's getting kind of ridiculous since Kripke left) and various feel-good anime and manga. I enjoy a large collection of webcomics (Gunnerkrigg Court, Homestuck, Johnny Wander, etc), films (action/adv, animated, psych thrillers mostly) and books (Name of the Wind, Watchmen, and tabletop RPG guides). Just ask me--our interests probably overlap somewhere. P:

Who is your favorite author? Book? Movie? Game? Etc...

I could not answer this question until I found Patrick Rothfuss. He's a little new to the scene with only two novels, but I'm head over heels for the guy. Read 'Name of the Wind', and you'll see why. An old favorite of mine is Tamora Pierce, simply for being my gateway drug to fiction and my main inspiration. I'm also a fan of Joss Whedon and Kevin Smith. Oh, and Hayao Miyazaki. Favorite games include Skyrim, Dragon Age: Origins, the Mass Effect series (despite disappointments), Portal 1 & 2, the Myst series, Minecraft, and others. I'm also a bit of a music collector. I love Yoko Kanno, Bear McCreary, Imogen Heap, and others.

What type of locations would you like to have a meetup?

Anywhere that requires less than a half hour drive from central SD. Preferably. Can drive farther with proper incentive.

Random geeky fact about yourself:

My two favorite anime/manga are about a ten year old Magical Girl who collects cards of varying comic power, and an immortal ronin who frequently has limbs chopped graphically from his body, respectively.

Fantasy enthusiast. Fictiofile. Obsessionista.
