The bread and butter of the group; meeting over coffee. We're always careful to pick places where food and drink are available (with at least *some* dietary options).

Hi everyone. Just want to say, this group looks awesome already! I wish I could join you all tomorrow and meet you, unfortunately, I have to work. I do look forward to hopefully meeting you all soon though! :)

That you wish to accommodate dietary options is great as I am vegan.

I'm gluten intolerant, so I'm well-familiar with dietary problems.

Neat idea for a group. A question ... how geeky do you need to be? I'm interested in "geek" things but I wouldn't consider myself to passionately geeky.

That's kind of an interesting question in that implies that there's a right and wrong way of being a geek, or that some geek interests are more geeky than others. I started this group in reaction to finding out how successful the Toronto group turned out, but unlike them, I chose not to emphasize gaming (whether video or board). They went that route for historical reasons. Geek Out! is actually about five months old now (but new to MeetUp), and in that time we've mostly attracted academics and gotten the full spectrum of interests. Long story short; no worries, bro, you're good.
