Science Museum Lates

The Science Museum’s Lates is a free night for adults that takes place on the last Wednesday of the month. Lates are themed, spanning issues as far apart as sex, alcohol and climate change, but always contain science shows, a pub quiz, Punk Science comedy shows, the best silent disco in town (underneath real space rockets) and sell out speed dating. Dubbed ‘drinking and thinking’ by visitors, Lates regularly attracts over 3000 adults each night, with DJs and bars on three floors of the museum.

February 2014

Regular Lates Events

You can also expect the usual attractions including

• pub science quiz

• Due to the extra events running at Lates this month, Speed Dating will not be running!

• punk science (comedy)

• the infamous silent disco

• Web Lab, a series of interactive Google Chrome Experiments  that bring the extraordinary workings of the internet to life.

• the usual science museum exhibits - the whole museum remains open including Launchpad: their most popular hands-on gallery with a DJ and no kids to hog all the toys!

A lot happens at these Lates and it's a bit fragmented so the best thing is to just visit the Lates website a few days beforehand to download the brochure and pick your events beforehand.

Meeting up

7pm. Please meet at 7pm at the Apollo Capsule (pictured below) at the back of the ground floor (past the airplanes and flying section) - there's usually a pop-up bar there so a good place to wait for people. Nayim will have a Meetup sign.

You can Download this month's guide and map to get a rough idea of what you'll want to do on Wednesday. Nayim will also have a timetable he will follow so you can catch up with the group at certain times for certain events.

9pm. If you find yourself splitting from the group, we will all meet back together at 9pm at the third floor bar, by Launchpad. This gives us an hour to socialise before they kick us out.

The Science Museum Lates is a free public event, but we do charge membership to cover admin and costs for attending with the Geek Chic group.
