Good Morning Geeks!
I'd like to take time out and make a few announcements for the overall group, specifically the addition of new forums as well as a member survey - if you have further questions and comments please feel free to send me an email and I will be happy to address!
I've also added Robert Burns as an Event Organizer for the group to help address the concern that there weren't enough events occurring in Virginia and he's an absolute joy to work with - please feel free to drop a congrats and a hello to him.
You may notice a few changes to the meet-up group - specifically there are now forums instead of a plain old message board. We're probably the most talkative group on Meetup so I've created a couple of old school forums to help with the flow of conversation!
The forums are as follows:
Please let me know if you would like to see more, I will be happy to create them and you can post to your hearts content.
If you’re a Facebook user and want to participate in random Group discussions, check out our cousin, the DC Sci-Fi Fantasy Outpost, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/56284871809.
While I have so much fun creating the events and meeting all of my geeks - I'd like to receive your feedback of what you would like to see - I know that you guys are very busy but please stop by (http://www.meetup.com/geeknightout/polls/542862/) and leave your opinion. I will be conducting this survey throughout the month of May so you may receive a couple of updates to this effect.
There are several new events on the group:
Friday Night Frights - This Friday at the Black Cat - DC
Let's Get Physical - Margaritas and Mini Golf - DC
Everyday I'm Shuffling - Shuffleboard and Pool at the Continental - VA
Inconceivable! The Princess Bride at AFI - MD
If you’re a Facebook user, the DC Fandom Gateway has compiled a list of geek happenings in the area (e.g., conventions, exhibits, movie releases, etc.). Check it out at https://www.facebook.com/pages/DC-Fandom-Gateway/178879802235172. We can always pull together a Meetup if anything inspires you!
