Youtube video explaining this below @

I want to start-up a regular meetup to discuss the wondrous world of code. It would be really cool if this could turn into a regular hackathon where we can engage in some playful exploratory programming.

I have a real preference for PHP but I also want to explore other languages as well. I wont set a start date or location for this until I get enough interest.

Here's what I envision for the first meetup. (Going to take the form of a introductory/discussion thing).

    - Introduce the basic concepts of PHP programming.
    - Demonstrate some cool things you can do with various functions.
    - Discuss/demonstrate the power of PHP CLI.
    - Discuss ideas for future meetups.

All are welcome! Also add me to Facebook @ I want to know as many programmers as possible :]

Remember admittance for this event will be $5 dollars *you can pay when you arrive*

    Hope to see you there!

Will the event be held at the same College and Spadina location planned out before it was rescheduled?

Looks like a good event, i have a few friends who are interested in getting into programming and PHP think this might be a great way for me to get them started!

    Hope the location is accessible!

Been dipping in PHP for a few years thanks to WordPress. Interested in doing more than iterating through an array of variables. :)

I know nothing in programming accept how they talk [masked]

Actually[masked] is binary. In base 10 it is 27. In Hex that is 1B.

I am new here but would love to attend this as I am interested in exploring/learning new programming languages as well. Willing to pay the $5 to cover expenses for sure, and hopefully this is on a week day after 5pm, weekends definitely don't work for me.

Be interesting to see what I don't know at this point. Have you ever gone into some advanced PHP programming and used a framework like Zend Framework. I've worked with ZF 1.12 professionally and am interested in exploring the changes that have come to ZF2. Particularly their version of dependency injection. I'm also an advocated of Domain Driver Design and Restful services powered by powerful Single Page Apps powered by Backbone.Marionette.

I could use a thing like this to motivate me to work on my php knowledge (limited now) Would JQuery/javascript also be included in this?
