I am very upset that you guys are holding events at Richtree in the Eaton Centre. They have seriously screwed over their employees. They sacked all the employees from before their move because they unionised, and then employed all new staff post-move, if you can believe it. The law has decreed that Richtree are in the wrong, but I don't see them doing anything about it. I am NEVER eating there again, until they have hired back their previous workers! :( http://www.torontolife.com/daily-dish/random-stuff-dish/2014/01/09/richtree-eaton-centre-officially-labour-law-violator/

What I will do is, I will attempt to contact every media outlet that published the original story about Richtree, and ask them if they could please do a follow-up article on what happened after, or at least let me know what happened (if they know), and if the previous workers did get their jobs back. If I find everything has been straightened out, I will be the first to apologise to you, as I am an honourable person. Thanks a lot, Bobbi. Will let you know if I do find out anything.
      Cheers, Aya

P.S.: I hope you guys had a good time last night, in any case. :)

4:25 am Lynessa had a good time. She hopes Molly has found her wallet. Yes it's one of those nights. Peace out Geeks.

The last time I heard someone losing their wallet was a naked old man in the gyms change room. He just turned around and announced to everyone that someone took his wallet. Sacks clearly visible

Emily and I are still hoping to come down, but playing it by ear. She's got a broken ankle and I'm fighting off an infection.

If you guys actually came that's what I call dedication. Seriously though, get the infection look after. I had a landlady die from an infection that she didn't get looked after in time.

      May 16, 2014

    • Michael R.

Well I've got antibiotics now - but yeah, we're not really up for it. I'll come out for the walk tomorrow though since it's right down the street.

Hello everyone, this is my first time going to this event, do I just arrive at the restaurant, and ask for meetups or how do I find the group?

    1 · May 16, 2014

  • Abhi

Wait, is this Ghost in the Shell: stand alone complex?

    May 15, 2014

    • Matt

I should point out it's also technically a different universe. So the movie and the TV show can't be put on the same timeline.

      May 16, 2014

    • Michael R.

It's a different universe for SAC? I thought it just theoretically preceded the movies. That being said, I saw SAC and the original movie WAAAAAY apart from each other.

Does rich tree have a party room or something? I didn't know you could watch movies there!

I was thinking, if there's ever another one of these, how about the movie Gattaca?

That is a good suggestion and I'll definitely consider it!

Hi there. Wondering if it'd be okay to come by around intermission (8:30)? I won't be able to make it for 6:00

Good question. I'm kind of all about the dark city anyways.

      Yes, that's fine.

I actually never saw Dark City. Looks interesting.

It's a classic, same director as the first crow movie which is also great. Best to watch dark city in as dark of a room as possible. The entire film is purposely very low lit (hence the name?) and at the end you suddenly get blasted in the face with bright light.

      May 2, 2014

    • Craig E.

      IT's awesome, you'll love it!

VENUE CHANGE! We're at the Richtree now so we can fit in more people and you'll be able to order food during the movie and it'll be brought to you.

Bummer, just noticed the venue changed. I already saw both movies multiple times. Was only coming for dinner and the the first half, because the old venue was close to where I needed to be that night. Oh well, have fun everybody.

    May 10, 2014

  • Michelle

The new location isn't as convenient for me either, I work out of town and it takes hours to get home. After getting off the Dbus at Jane Stn it was just a short convenient distance to Runnymede. Have fun.

Eaton Centre? Pass. I'm out as well.

Bollocks! The new location isn't as convenient for me. Enjoy the movies guys!

Does it make sense to order dinner with the movie, or should we show up early if we want burgers?

    May 5, 2014

    • y i y i n g

I recommend ordering earlier as there are a lot of people so it might take some time

1998 dark city or another one?

    May 2, 2014

    • Matt

Not at all. I own it, and they were very faithful to the original feel of the movie. It's more like the movie could have been made in 2010 with a noir filter on it. They also re-do that HORRIBLE "let's spoil everything" into in favor of "let's have everyone figure it out."

Alright one question: I am new to Toronto and don't really like the transportation thus far. I live in this place called Scarborough and I swear if I had to take one more bus I'd have reached Ottawa.
So, I can still reach home after 1 right? or do I bring a blanket and rug to spend the night there, just in case.

"Most buses run from about 6:00 am (9:00 am on Sundays) until about 1:00 am, every day."

      May 4, 2014

    • Michelle

Rishi, make sure your sweet geeky ass is at Runnymede Stn to catch the last train Eastbound. It will make your night sooooo much better otherwise you'll need the All-night bus and that just sucks.

      May 4, 2014

  • Matt

To people concerned about getting home after, the second movie will be done by 11:00pm. So that should give people time to get home if they don't want to stay for games.

Looks like I need to bring PJs <3
