Geekeasy Derby: July 2014

Geekeasy is a relaxed gathering of geeky/techy/creative types in Derby, who have an interest in learning and perhaps working together. It's very friendly, and you'll find an interesting mix of people to talk to.

Geek Speak (around 6.30pm): This month, we're welcoming James Thomson to the stage. He'll be discussing: "Art and science: oil and water?"

James says: "Art and science are two strands of geekdom which can seem divided - but combine their powers and the results can be spectacular. I'll offer a brief discussion on the reasons for the divide, and some amazing examples what can happen when artists and scientists decide to talk to each other."

After the talk we'll carry on chatting, drinking and chowing down on samosas. Invite a friend, and help spread the geeky word!

All types of geek are welcome: creative, technical, digital, engineering, science, space, web, design, chic geeks and even non-geeks.

That's interesting :-) I have a software company called Arten Science Limited, which is a play on the fact that Software Development is still (IMHO) part Art and part Science.
