Introduction

I collect geeks, especially those with a side of nerd.

What flavor of Geek/Nerd variant do you consider yourself to be? What kind of social happenings best fit into your particular theme of un-conforming?

karaoke, comedy/improv events, film screenings, museums, tours of the lakes, uptown/mall walks, art fairs, garage saling/flea market outing, etc., are just a few things that come to the top of my mind, but, I'd be happy to brainstorm further.

Are you a Social Butterfly? Do you play well with others? Do you enjoy meeting new people? If so, would you be willing to help out our Nerd Posse leadership team with regularly recurring activities by occasionally hosting events at public locations?

Sure, I love planning & hosting stuff! I've done quite a bit of it in other meetup groups, and in non meetup settings. There's an annual improv-in-the-park scene that would be fun to check out.

When you finally discovered this group after an arduous quest thru Meetup for a flock of odd ducks who naturally “get” your unique brand of slightly off, did you squeal like a piglet, do a happy dance, then have to adjust your glasses? (BE HONEST!)

Due to an over excess of much jigging, my glasses totally fell completely off, bounced twice, and lost a screw ... I couldn't find it in the carpet, so, I had to rig them back together with a safety pin. What a nerd!

  • I have a question I have been wanting to ask you. When you collect geeks do you put them in nice packaging, shrink wrap them, and put them on a shelf to gain value? JUST KIDDING! :-P

  • You are amazing, I read your okCupid profile and I am so impressed with you. I like the idea that you do not judge a book by the cover. I look forward to the day we meet.

  • Although I'm new to Minnesota I'm willing to bet we're no more than three degrees separated. Less if you have a shortcut to Atlanta. Look forward to meeting you.

  • Hi, KarmaSoup --

The response to our Studio Bricolage meetup entry was gratifyingly awesome and we're just catching up to the messages. Thanks for becoming a member. Cross-posting to your Geeks group would be just fine for any of our events and I'm sorry I didn't respond 'til now. We will be posting future events on meetup and hope to see you tonight.
