Game of Thrones season premiere/season finale FEAST

9am-7pm: The rebroadcast of all of Season 3
5pm: The beginning of The FEAST!  Bring an item(or two)!
9pm: season-premiere episode of Season 4!

To celebrate the premiere or finale of Season 4 of Game of Thrones, we will have a FEAST as gluttonous and decadent as only King Robert would!

Food ideas:

Smoked turkey leg
Rotisserie chicken
Smoked sausages
Meat pies
Vegetable pies
Pork chops
Fresh loaf of rosemary bread
Homemade sweet bread
Corn on the cob
Steak
Ribs
Bunches of grapes
Brisket
Mugs of mead/ale
Pitcher of milk
Grilled fish(with the head still on?)
Wine
Berries and cream
Boiled potatoes
Nuts and nutcracker
Fresh peaches, apples, oranges
Blocks of cheese and course bread
Some sort of symbolic nod to a pig with apple in it's mouth

Vegetarian options are also welcome, and will be added.

I also now have the official Game of Thrones Cookbook, and will be adding more ideas.  If anyone wants some ideas out of the cookbook, let me know!

I asked a British friend of mine for food-ideas for a medieval meal for a gluttonous king, and he told me to Google pictures of Henry the 8th, and look for whatever he was stuffing himself with.  :P

Depending on the weather, this could be held outdoors with a giant wood table(still needed), and cut logs as chairs(I have alot). I have nice table-cloths, but nothing royal/fancy looking.

Ideally I would love to make a Game of Thrones throne for the head of the table:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-Your-Own-Iron-Throne/?ALLSTEPS

Wood/pewter plates would be nice, if anyone has some.

Bring a rough/medieval knife/fork/spoon to eat with. Big, gluttonous fork if you want. Eat with your hands if you want.  Anyone caught using traditional utensils might have food thrown at them.  :P

Bring your favorite big mug/glass that might fit with the mood.

I'll have a firepit for atmosphere.

Dress any way you want, for medieval time or not.

More details to come as date becomes known for premiere or finale.

    I propose a pig roast

    2 · January 14

    • NIck S.

so I spoke to one of the people at my work and we can get a pig for under $100 and this guy also has a spit that he is willing to rent to us any thoughts

      January 15

    • JoelWB

I also have a friend that might have access to a free pig-sized roaster/grill. I will check with him. Great idea!

      January 15

  • Libby B.

Wow you mean I'll finally be able to wear my Renaissance dress I bought ages ago but have still yet to wear? It'd be my luck, I can't wait it anymore

    2 · January 14

  • Elizabeth S.

Can't wait! I'll be in costume with a baby dragon on my shoulder. Will bring some Westeros grub…not sure what yet. Thanks Joel!

    2 · January 14

  • Andrea N.

I also have a bajillion (40) yards of diamond patterned blue cloth that looks medieval and could be a giant table cloth.
