Work-Day Thursday

First thing:  I want to thank all of you who helped build/move our furniture and storage around to get to where we are already!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is NOT an open house so please respect the people that are working on tasks by not distracting them (unless they are feeling social).  If you are coming by to check out the space we would like to encourage that but look on the board in the front lobby for the volunteer of the day who will show you around.

Most of the construction is completed so I've changed the description a bit.  We are currently working with the Galileo board and building the entry system. There is ongoing work happening on the website, registration, payment, entry software, and there is some finish work to be completed on the shelves and in the workshop.

We will be doing organizational things like processing, sorting, and storing incoming donations, building storage for the parts and donations and other housekeeping tasks.  I'm going to be putting together a whiteboard of tasks that need to be accomplished, some will be weekly cleanup tasks and others will be one time tasks.  Look for it in the big room.  Also if you see something that you think needs doing please add it to the list.

Feel free to bring in your projects and work on them, pitch in and help as you can on the tasks we need to get done, or both!

I am out with strep throat, don't want to have to quarantine the lab.

Whoever is tasked with working on the motor for the Galileo, go ahead and get it wired up for the lock controller. Same goes for the magnetic switch detection. Document which port+pins are used so that the software will be easy to write and test next time (unless someone does it before then).

Let me know if you need anything!

I think Joe is going to be up there for his soldering class and Luke was planning on going up to do something as well. I'm out of town for the day so will probably come up Sunday instead.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
