Thanks to Brian and Sam who came
over and helped.
I can't say we came away with everything we wanted for the fair, we hit a few snags.
While the Pi-controlled relay worked as promised, we hit a snag with the ring shooter's energy requirements (a whopping 15A+ according to my kill-a-watt). Since we only have 5 amps to play with at the fair it's a bust. Plus, that amount of amperage would have let the smoke out of Brian's relay.
I do have (most) of the parts to rework it into an equipment-lockout demo, using the RFID keycards and relay to switch a run-of-the-mill AC outlet.
The MAME-Pi might still be viable, though the sunlight will play hell with any display short of a CRT, and the Pi's can't speak VGA. D'oh.
We need people to man the booth at the fair. At least 1 person should be at the boot at all times for all 7 hours of the fair. I have the times and names listed below. If anyone wants to sign up, let me know ASAP.
