Introduction

We just moved to Geneva, and bought a house with a garden. We've always admired the beautiful water lily ponds in public gardens. We'd love to install a small pond in our own garden. Everything we've read on this web site should make that a reality.

How did you learn about our Geneva Area Pond Club? Please specify the web site or bulletin board location or person from whom you learned about us.

We Googled "ponds, Geneva" and found hundreds of references to this club on the Internet. We signed up with www.Meetup.com so that we could join the club. We look forward to meeting many other club members at the twice-monthly meetings.

Which topics would you like to hear discussed at our next meeting? Have you submitted your RSVP yet to let us know whether or not you can attend the upcoming meeting? Click to get full details on our 'Home' page.

We'd appreciate one or more meetings designed for beginners who never created a garden pond. We need to learn all about designing, proper construction materials, and selecting pond fish and water plants hardy enough to survive Geneva winters.

If you already have a pond, how would you describe its size and appearance? What kind of plants and fish inhabit the pond? If you don't yet have a pond, would you like to learn how to create one? Can you offer (or do you need) any pond equipment?

Our tentative plan is to create a kidney-shaped pond about ten feet wide and fifteen feet long, but we'll ask the experts for advice at the club's meetings. We'll also need advice about the best plants and fish to add to our pond.

Would you like to get some goldfish or aquatic plants for your own pond from club leders Suzanne and Peter? Do you have any fish or plants you'd like to offer to other members?

We can't offer any fish or plants until our pond is built and established, but we'd love to get a few of each to start our collection. Suzanne and Peter must be very generous to offer every member their first fish and plants. Thank you.

In what town near Geneva do you live? Can you host one of our informal get-togethers there? Simple snacks and beverages are all we expect, but if you want to make our get-together a bigger party, should we all bring a dish to share?

Our home in Chambesy is large enough to host a meeting, but we feel we should attend a few meetings in other members' homes before we offer to host our own. We can supply enough refreshments for all who attend.
