Peebles walk

Come & join Toby (Lhasa Apso) and me, for a summer Sunday stroll in Peebles. Set between the Moorfoots and the Southern Uplands, Peebles provides a range of walks to suit all tastes and abilities. Particularly popular an easy riverside walk leads along the beautiful River Tweed from the centre of this attractive town. This enchanting walk heads upstream along the beautiful banks of the River Tweed from the town of Peebles. It passes the dramatic Neidpath Castle before crossing a minor road. We'll walk along stoned paths, past fields & cattle and along country roads. We'll then walk back along the river to climb to a viewpoint; before descending in woodland & then back to the car park via River Tweed.

TERRAIN = Riverside and woodland paths with a short section of minor road. DISTANCE = approx 7.7 miles. Bring along a packed lunch, as we’ll stop for a picnic on a grassy footbridge (with stunning views). Wear sturdy shoes, as the paths are rough in places.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT = First Bus: X70, 62, 62A.

Toby & I will meet you in Kingsmeadows Car Park.

If you need to contact me on the day, my mobile number is:[masked] 7141.

It's always good to do this walk, and the tunnel was certainly a scary detour! Thanks Debs.

Thanks Debbie for another walk in the gorgeous Peebles countryside. Everything was just perfect for 'the afternoon after the night before' even the scary tunnel. Great suggestion to round things off with a cuppa at The Cocoa Black :-)

I've had a fantastic day! Stunning countryside; dry weather; fab company; interesting detour; and a visit to Cocoa Black afterwards. Its just a shame that Toby was unable to join the walk.
    Thanks for coming, folks!

Am so sorry to hear about Toby, Debs - must be hard seeing the wee fella in pain.
Unfortunately I am going to have to pull out of tomorrow. I have got car trouble plus my aunt is in hospital (she's 94) so have been running around. I'll get to Peebles yet! Hope the weather is good and that Toby makes a speedy recovery.

It is unlikely that Toby will be joining us on Sunday. His sciatica has flared up. The wee man's mobility isnt good & I'm struggling to control Toby's pain.

There is a Sunday bus that leaves Waterloo Place at 10.20am and arrives in Peebles at 11.31am. Return buses every half hour.
