Data Collection + Imagery

On May 7 we'll gather to socialize, network, and hear about the data collection methods and imagery.

If you're interested in speaking about data imagery collection at the meetup send us an email.  We're looking for one more speaker.

•  Wade Crump will talk about using a GoPro for field data collection

James Graham a GIS developer at the District Department of Transportation will talk about about collecting data via 360-degree panoramic photographs with the DC government and Cyclomedia.

As usual we'll meet at 7:00 pm at the upstairs bar at Stetsons at 16th and U Streets NW. Introductions and lightning talks will start at 7:30 pm. Stetsons is a 21 and over venue. If you're not yet 21 but want to attend, message us via meetup and we'll do our best to get you in.

GeoDC meets on the first Wednesday of the month to learn, network, and talk about the work people are doing with maps, GIS, geodata, and more. Join this meetup group, follow @Geo_DC on Twitter, and join our Google group for updates.

Do you have something you'd like to share with the group? Let us know!

Thanks again to the group, this was my first time attending and looking forward to next month. Interesting talk about GoPro BTW! Also, I didn't get a change to connect with the gentlemen who noted he was looking for interns, but I'd be happy to chat more about those opportunities.

Enjoyed learning how the dc department of transportation and others are using mounted cameras to create 360 degree panoramas like Google Street View.
