What makes you a geonerd?

-Did several GIS research projects on top of a geology senior thesis in undergrad -Got super excited when I found out about a new GIS in DC grad certificate that worked with my full time work schedule -I keep asking my boss for GIS projects to do at work -There's some kind of mysterious and awesome thrill I get out of working in GIS, particularly when I figure out some clever series of operations and it actually works. -I'd love to learn GRASS, and have started trying to teach it to myself. -Being able to share this enthusiasm with other people in the DC area would be great!

Geospatial analyst working for federal clients. Mostly use ESRI products, but interested in learning more about FOSS alternatives. Also TAed/RAed for GIS classes in undergrad and currently working on a grad-level GIS certificate.
