Hello Geonerds:

We are looking to hire a developer to build a desktop or web-based application. Please see details below, and if interested, send an email to the contact following the project description.

Project: Development of a simple application (either web or desktop, only one of the two, TBD) to query historical weather data for specific locations/addresses. The intended functionality is such that a user could select a historical year (ie: 1988) or a specific season from a year (ie: winter of 1995), and the weather of interest (ie: hurricanes and extreme heat), and the app would provide a weather profile for two different buffers from the address/location of interest. We are only interested in data for about the last 6 decades.
We are looking for a freelancer or short-term consultant who would be able to accomplish the development of the application, starting as soon as possible. The collection of the weather datasets would not be a responsibility of the developer, rather, the datasets would be provided to the contractor as part of the project. The developer would also have the support of a GIS Analyst during the duration of the contract.

Interested candidates should send an email to Alex Stoicof at Please state your availability and past experience with web/desktop applications.
