GARP General Meeting June 7 (SAT), Green Sprout Restaurant

Join us at the Georgia Animal Rights and Protection (GARP) general meeting featuring guest speaker: ROGER SWAINE.

About Roger: Roger has been an active force in the animal rights movement for many years including organizing direct action against bloodsports and campaigning to outlaw hunting with dogs in the UK. Before coming to the U.S., Roger ran the Derby Animal Rights/Derby Hunt Sabs in the UK and was also tactics officer on the committee of the national Hunt Saboteurs Association for a number of years. Some of his campaigns included: the Foston pig factory farm which was featured in Vegnews.

At the meeting, Roger will explain hunt sabs and share his experiences protecting animal rights.

DATE: Saturday, June 7

TIME: 10:30 a.m. to noon

LOCATION: Green Sprout Restaurant (1529 Piedmont Ave. across from Ansley Mall)

After the meeting stay for lunch and connect with other people who care about animals! Green Sprout Vegetarian Restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious vegan options.

We will have updates and announcements on upcoming events during the meeting.

      Part 2: For the past 14 years, Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta, GA has provided a venue for the largest pet adoption event in the southeastern United States. In years past, Animal Rescue Fair has been responsible for thousands of homeless pets finding new homes and bringing happiness to their new families.

      Over 50 pet rescues and humane societies from Georgia and surrounding states converge at Wills Park in Alpharetta, GA for our mega pet adoption allowing for a wide variety of pets from purebred and mix breed dogs to the most precious of kittens, horses, goats, rabbits, and in-between.

      Part 3: Join us on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from noon to 5pm at Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta, GA under the covered arena for a day filled with good food, fun, shopping; and puppy and kitten love!

      We are going to have some incredible Raffle Prizes again this year. Look for the tent by the entrance and for volunteers walking around selling raffle tickets.

      Have your face painted then shop with the many vendors on hand while picking out a new family pet from one of our many rescues.
