Meetup was great last weekend. Thanks to my navigator Robert - we had a good time and I hope we will do this again! Scott - thanks for organizing.

    Hey All,

New to meet up, just kinda saying hello and checking things out. Im excited to see some cars and learn some stuff, i just hope to be able to put in my new coil springs beforehand lol. I also had a question for discussion:

Does Anyone watch the web series by MotorTrend called Head2Head? I personally think its awesome they put 2 rival cars "head2head" to see how they perform.

well everyone - thanks for braving the not-so-beautiful weather. and i'm really sorry a couple of people were a little late and we missed them. thanks to everyone for coming out - it was a fun event. i do apologize for the other event at Mia's that kept us from getting in - thanks for your patience.

we re-scored one leg after the event based on some feedback from the first overall team - i don't believe it changed the overall trophy positions, but it did change the scoring ... here is the update

    1st overall / 1st equipped - Tom Greig + Marty Friedman - 326 points

    2nd overall / 1st limited equipment - Les Martens + Kyle Updegrove - 862 points

    3rd overall / 1st novice - Tami Wilkinson + Josh Fritz - 1104 points

    4th overall / 2nd novice - Jordan + Mike Garrison - 1340 points

    3rd novice - Michael Douglas + Robert Freeman - 1365 points

    4th novice - Mike + Sandy Emmett - 1615 points

    5th novice - Rose Hopp + Eddie Miller - 1757 points

    6th novice - Robert + John Bunn - 1800 points

Hey guys! I got there just seconds to late! Saw some of you all leaving to get started. How did the rally go?

    May 18, 2014

    • Kyle U.

Robert, I'm so sorry you didn't get to drive. I heard two teams showed up after the rallymaster had left. It went well despite the slick conditions. Some really great routes, challenging to drive to speed in the wet.

      May 18, 2014

    • Scott P.

wow Robert - sorry we missed you ... we had to get to the first checkpoint and had to leave 5 - 10 minutes before 11.

I'm breaking in a new driver, but we'll give it our best shot.

These newbies want to come. When will we be done? Navigator has a concert in the late afternoon.

    1 · May 17, 2014

    • Scott P.

Glenn, the first car will be out at 11:00 and will finish around 2:00. so we should all be done by 3:00

      May 17, 2014

  • Scott P.

we will be running the rally rain or shine. come on out. last rally it was drizzling at the start but cleared off to be a beautiful day.

    May 16, 2014

  • Michael D.

Well boys and girls, looks like we'll be catching some rain on Sunday. I'm thinking I might splurge on some new wiper blades, but I'll be there...

I am heartbroken and very disappointed. The guy painting my car still does not have it ready so I will have to bring the family hauler for this rally. Hope I don't look to outta place!

    May 13, 2014

    • Scott P.

no worries, you can run a rally in anything. of course its more fun in a great driving car. i watched a guy run a porsche club rally in a BA Dodge 4x4 truck.

      1 · May 13, 2014

    • Kyle U.

I've run rallies in a lifted Nissan Armada on Super Swampers before. You can hear it about a mile before we hit the check point :-D Not that I don't prefer the car, of course.

I've never done anything like this, how does this actually work? Sorry real newb here.

    May 13, 2014

    • Kyle U.

Ha ha . . . no you can't use our nav system. Be there early, we'll be able to give you the run down before the drivers meeting.

      May 13, 2014

    • Dima T.

Ok, sounds good, it's going to be me and my buddy but we are showing up in 2 separate cars, so if anyone wants to team up with us we are Def down for that.

      May 13, 2014

  • Robert F.

Michael. Yes I would be interested in navigating for you Sunday. Let me know if you still need me. Thanks. Robert

    May 13, 2014

    • Kyle U.

Michael will do it with you.

Hi everyone - a bit of a newbie here. Thought I had a navigator but it appears that has fallen through. Can a rally like this be done without a 2nd? Anybody interested in riding with?

    May 12, 2014

    • Scott P.

Michael, i would recommend (strongly) that you have a navigator ... just for the reason that if you need to look up a definition or simply to help look for signs and read the instructions to you.

      May 13, 2014

    • Michael D.

Looks like I have a navigator - thanks all for the input and Robert I'll see you on Sunday!

everyone who is interested in running - if you don't have a navigator, please look to form a team with somebody else who does not have somebody running with them. this forum is a great way to do that. last fall 2 guys met at the start and decided to run together ... and won the novice class!

    May 13, 2014

  • Robert F.

I would be willing to navigate for someone.

    April 11, 2014

    • Michael D.

Robert - I see this is an old comment, but I lost my navigator for this weekend so if you are still up for it...

Hey everyone. I wanted to see if anyone in this groups would be interested in going to Drift Atlanta on the 10th-11th at Road Atlanta. I don't want to go alone, and I find it hard to meet people who are into drifting. This could be a lot of fun!

    May 4, 2014

    • Kyle U.

I'm tied up at ballet concerts all weekend, sorry.

      May 7, 2014

  • Scott P.

We just prechecked the rally this weekend. Fred's comment was GREAT roads ... a lot of fun to drive. this is an easy, straight-forward TSD rally. come on out and have some fun !!!

I may or may not be able to make this. I've been invited to a track day at Little Talladega on the same day and would really like to get some track time in. :) Count me as a solid "Maybe/If The Track Day Doesn't Happen" RSVP haha

    April 15, 2014

    • Scott P.

i can understand the desire to drive as close to flat out as possible, but unless you are on a bike or a gokart, that track isn't that much fun. (IMHO), i can tell you we've got some great crusing roads on this rally.

      April 15, 2014

    • Emily

I'm in a del Sol, which is essentially a big go kart :P

      1 · April 15, 2014

  • Scott P.

i am finalizing the route right now ... there are some fantastic roads. This will NOT be a difficult rally, it will be perfect for beginners and people wanting to get back into rallying. we will run rain or shine ... so come out and have some fun. we have separate classes for novices and experienced teams - so you won't be competing against those guys.

So, I'm officially a "Novice" by virtue of attending the Borderland event (which imho was a blast.) Since I'm a Novice, I think I get to ask dumb questions. So here goes. What's the difference between a "Monte Carlo" - which is what the Borderland advertised itself as - and a "Standard TSD" which is what this event is??

    thanks in advance.

    April 12, 2014

    • Robert

      ∆Yea what he said∆

      April 12, 2014

    • Kyle U.

On a Monte Carlo rally, you are given the time. On a standard TSD you are not so your co-driver will be busy monitoring your Time, Speed, and Distance.

Can't wait!!! Now to find someone crazy enough to ride with me..

    Gotta make this one!

Same here too. Can somebody chime in from the last rally and let me know how it went

      Sounds great!
