Zingara Madness

Twelve action-packed legs through scenic countryside southeast of Atlanta. Each leg features a "trap" similar to what was encountered in the hey day of rallying on beginner rallies. All traps are fail-safed. (If you find a way to get lost, it won't be because of a trap.)

Registration begins at 10:00 AM. First Car Off at 11:00 AM. If you are new to rallying, come early. There will be experienced rallyists there to coach you.

Fred did a great job with the rally. My normal navigator could not run so I teamed with another driver who was also missing a navigator. It took a couple of legs for us to learn how to work together but once we figured it out we did pretty well despite havng no equipment and being totally unprepared. Took first in stock class and second overall. Was a fun event with nice roads.

This was a well designed rally and the traps were quiet tricky. This was my first time participating in a road rally and i was beat pretty badly (our team ended up in last place). The roads were very tricky and we kept getting lost, but the rallymasters were there to help us throughout the way. Overall i really enjoyed my time and it was tank of gas well spent!

As a novice, We managed fairly well. the area is curvy, hilly and lends itself to maze like arrangement. A dedicated navigator is a must for a safe ride. He figures out where to tell you to turn, what speed you should drive, Etc. Folks were very helpfull explaining what we were to do. Great time!

Well I googled Car Rally and found out what it's about. Lot of information on the net. I did right bringing a navigator I hope.

Yogi, bring along a friend to help you navigate - 2 people in a car.

For your first time all you really need is a simple calculator. Something to write with will be helpful, as is a clipboard. Some rallyists find highlighters helpful for noting special things in the instructions.

Scott, I'm right there with you regarding forgetting the calculations for your first few rallies. Are there any do-it-yourself checkpoints, though? If so a calculator makes them much easier.
