We will be doing lots of work on the James Edmonds Trail. The trail is very overgrown and needs some TLC. The trail is 7.4 miles in length. We hope to clear 3-4 miles of it with your help!

We will be clearing out the trail corridor with loppers, clippers, pruners etc. Please bring any tools you have that would help cut back limbs. We will not be using any power tools so leave the chainsaws at home.

We will work from 10-noon and take a lunch break and then pick back up from 12:30-2:30. Please bring any food or water you will need for the day.

What to bring / wear:
work gloves
loppers (if you have them)
hedge clippers
pruners
Eye protection if you have it
long pants
good shoes
warm clothing
hand saw

For any questions, comments or concerns please email
[masked]

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

8 people with a total of 20 volunteer hours between us on Saturday.

We cleared the west and east fork of the James Edmonds trail with loppers and saws from Taylors Chapel Rd.

We fully cleared 2 miles of trail.

We hammered in a couple of re bar points sticking out of wooden steps.

We picked up over 3 lbs of trash.

It was a Great Day on the trail!

James Edmond trail is one of my favorites in the State park system. I would love to volunteer only I would need to carpool from the Atlanta /Stone Mountain/Decatur area if my vehicle isn't fixed by the weekend.

Hi Shemeah, I won't be able to help with a carpool. Perhaps send [masked] an email to see if he has others coming up from Atlanta. Or have you connected with Ron from this MeetUp?
