Lights, camera, action! Cumberland Island Movie Night is December 3rd!
Join the Georgia Conservancy and REI as we take a trip through the ages (and across the most beautiful barrier island in Georgia) -- without leaving metro Atlanta.
For the 4th year in a row, we are screening Cumberland: Island in Time at the Cumberland Island Movie Night at REI Atlanta on Monday, December 3rd starting at 6 p.m.
Bill Vanderkloot, Atlanta cinematographer and director of Cumberland, will introduce the film. Joining Vanderkloot in the discussion of Cumberland Island will be Charles Seabrook, author of Cumberland Island: Strong Women, Wild Horses. Seabrook will share with us the intimate details of his research on Cumberland Island and speak about the island’s African-American history.
Copies of Seabrook’s new book, The World of The Salt Marsh, will be on-sale during the evening.
Cumberland Island Movie Night corresponds with our Cumberland Island Service Weekend during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend.
