August 2013 Meetup

Forest Room 5 worked out much better last month, so we'll give it another go. We will meet in the private room again. Just walk past the bar, and the door to the room is on your left.

We currently have two talks lined up, from Brian Timoney and Peter Batty, as follows ...

Brian Timoney: Managing Spatial Data & Web Services With a DOS Batch File? Sure, Why Not.

The cools kidz have their Ruby. We have spatial analysis and web accessibility via SpatialLite/SQLite, managed grandpa-style with a DOS batch file.

Peter Batty: an overview of some popular open source and online mapping tools

This talk will give an overview and comparison of several easy ways to get starting with online mapping and/or open source, including CartoDB, MapBox and TileMill, the OpenGeo suite, and OSGeo Live.

If anyone would like to volunteer for another short talk, let us know!
