We are very pleased that at our next meeting of German Entrepreneurs, our guest speaker will be Dr Joann Halpern, the Founding Director of the German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI) in New York, located in the German House, together with the German Consulate General, the German Mission to the UN, the German Information Center and various other institutions. The GCRI New York was established as one of five German Houses of Research and Innovation (DWIHs) worldwide and is part of the German Government’s Strategy for the Internationalization of Science and Research.
The GCRI is a a joint initiative of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and was created as a cornerstone of the German Government’s initiative to internationalize science and research. GCRI’s areas of focus are high tech strategy, mobility, security, communication, climate and energy, and health and nutrition as well as the overarching theme, key technologies. GCRI’s mission is to strengthen transatlantic collaboration in science and technology and to help solve the global challenges of the 21st century. The Center helps German entrepreneurs connect with individuals in NY and other parts of the US who might be able to support them and has become a nucleus for creative individuals interested in sharing new ideas and developing international collaborations.
