Writer Support Meeting

Have a story where you're just stuck and you don't know how to move forward? Or maybe you're staring at a blank sheet of paper? Or you've written a story, but can't bear the thought of editing it because it seems so bad?

Writer Support is for you! Talk with other writers about what has been troubling you and get their advice on new ways to tackle the age-old problems that face all writers. This meeting is open to writers of all experience levels. We all go through this on one way or another.

We'll be meeting in the back of the Wegman's cafe, NOT the fireplace room. Last time some folks had problems finding us in the fireplace room, so we're going to try something a little different.

Thanks, Ann, for the KDP Select info. Very informative and worth checking out.

So nice meeting all of you! I'll be back.

Just as a follow-up, Doc was right about KDP Select. The deal (in a nutshell) is that your book is included in the lending library and you get a percentage of the Select Global Fund based on how many times your book is borrowed. You do also get a higher royalty in Japan, Brazil, India and Mexico, but so far this hasn't paid off for me. :) KDP Select requires you to distribute your ebook exclusively through Amazon. Because my storytelling book is really a small part of my business, I just wanted to keep it simple, so that was fine with me.

Here's the link to the details on KDP Select: https://kdp.amazon.com/help?topicId=A6KILDRNSCOBA

Here's a link to my book on Amazon if you're curious: http://www.amazon.com/Selling-Stories-Attract-Client-Pictures/dp/0989893006/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402318818&sr=8-1&keywords=ann+bevans Happy to lend a copy with anyone who'd like to read it.

A very productive meeting. Learned a lot from Ann, Doc, and Roger about self-publishing using KDP, CreateSpace, and Smashwords - - - the how-to aspects. Invaluable technical advise from those who've done what I want to do!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
