The first serious Yosemite climbers honed their skills at Cragmont, and we can, too! Mellow[masked] crack climbs on one side and a 5.10a classic on the other. Weather should be perfect for climbing; a cool start that'll break up later in the day. Pretty much all toprope, and the anchors are mostly easy walk-on setups, with a few good extra-cirricular options off natural anchors. Bring your toprope gear: Harness, belay device, shoes, helmet, etc. I have anchor gear and a rope, but if we have 4 or more we'll probably want at least one more rope/anchor setup. Layers are good; it'll be cooler in the morning. Snacks, water, and lunch if you want to, although Little Star and Zachary's are just down the road for apres-climb deep dish options.
Getting there is easy, just Google the address. There's usually parking within a block or so.
As a reminder, please read again the GYCO helmet policy and liability waiver:
We strongly recommend you wear a helmet while climbing on a GYCO meetup. If you arrive at a GYCO outdoor climbing trip without a climbing helmet or are unable to borrow one from a peer, you may be asked to clear the climbing area or leave the meetup by your organizer should any safety issues occur. This policy is put in place to reduce the risk of injury to yourself and others from falling rocks and climbing gear so please respect your organizer, meetup participants and GYCO's safety policy.
